Description: Renovation and unification of two apartments in Verbier
Client: Private
Date: 2023 - 2024
Status: Completed
In the context of a renovation, the question usually arises of what needs to be removed, what is worth keeping and what is interesting to enhance, thus defining the traces on which the project will be based and will grow.
When combining two apartments while preserving the original residence, the same questions arises again. How can the design be extended without simply copying it? What materials, details, or patterns should be carried over, erased, or modified from one space to the other? How can the design be reinterpreted without (too much) of a departure?
These are some of the questions that the project attempts to answer, borrowing here an openwork filling pattern, reusing there natural or treated oak wood species with the ultimate goal of the overall coherence of the new space, although achieved in several stages over time.
